Children who fall victims to landslides and others around the landslide site are invited to play and learn by volunteers at a disaster post tent in Cimapag hamlet, Sirnaresmi village, Cisolok district, Sukabumi regency, West Java, on Saturday (05/01/2019). This activity was designed as a substitute for teaching and learning activities that could not be done because their school buildings are used as disaster mitigation centers.

PANDEGLANG, KOMPAS -- Tsunami threats in the Sunda Strait in Pandeglang, Banten, has led locals to urge the government to immediately repair and put to proper use tsunami shelters in Labuan district. Currently, locals say that they have no idea where to find refuge if a tsunami is to reoccur.

Samsuri, 27, who owns a shop in front of the tsunami shelter, said that locals gathered at the shelter when the Sunda Strait tsunami hit Banten on Saturday (22/12/2018) night. However, as days went by, they refused to remain at the shelter as it was dark, dirty and lacking clean water.
