A dark cloud hung over the global economy in 2022. Various issues from politics to geopolitics forced many countries to adapt to the changes that took place. Adjustments were needed to get through the year, or readying an umbrella to brave the rains if the clouds thickened.

Under the same cloudy condition, Indonesia also experienced increased food and oil prices among other things, and state spending had to be allocated for extraordinary needs related to dealing with the pandemic. However, Indonesia also saw many positives, including a commodities boom and digital transformation in various sectors.
