The Presidium Coordinator of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Student Association (KAHMI) Mahfud MD (right) was present with Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) figures Harry Tjan Silalahi, HMI exponent Solichin class of 1966 and author Alfan Alfian at the launch of the book "HMI 1963-1966. Upholding Pancasila in the Middle of Tempest" in Jakarta, Thursday (30/5/2013).

A student was shot and killed during an anti-Sukarno demonstration in 1966. According to Arief Budiman, an activist leader from Generation 66, none of the activists knew who he was. According to those who knew the deceased, he was not an activist. "Maybe he was an unlucky spectator who was hit by a stray bullet because he was too late to get down," joked Arief.

However, he was named as a hero of the New Order to tarnish the authority of the Sukarno government. His name, Arif Rahman Hakim, is used as a street name in several cities. It is also used as the name of the mosque on the Salemba campus of the University of Indonesia in addition to the name of a private radio station in Jakarta.
