Residents watch the top six soccer match of Group D PON Papua 2021 between Papua and Aceh at the Mandala Stadium, Jayapura, Papua, Wednesday (6/10/2021). Some viewers still ignore the Covid-19 prevention health protocol.

Tightening enforcement of the health protocols is an option because it is difficult to prevent crowds of spectators at the National Games (PON) Papua 2021. Tracing and vaccination also need to be intensified.

JAYAPURA, KOMPAS — Strict implementation of the health protocols and tracing of close contacts must be carried out to prevent the spread of Covid-19 among athletes, officials, committees and spectators during PON Papua 2021. This is in line with the increasing number of confirmed cases in the PON cluster and the difficulty organizers are experiencing in preventing crowds.
