Workers of the Office of Cleanliness and Green Open Space (DKRTH) paint the free-standing name letters of Bungkul Park in Surabaya, East Java, on Friday (22/1/21). Like museums, city parks in Surabaya are still closed to the public to curb the spread of Covid-19, but maintenance work continues.

An Investigation carried out by Kompas daily regarding the sales and purchases of plantation areas with right-to-use land titles in the Puncak area, Bogor (Kompas , 8 Feb. 2021, page 1), is another example of the countryโ€™s poor record when it comes to the environment. If the same investigation is carried out in a number of areas, the general picture of the future of the environment in the country looks even gloomier.
