The third phase of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in Bekasi city, West Java, which will end on May 26, will not be extended if COVID-19 cases continue to decline. Residents in Bekasi who live in the green zone areas or areas free of COVID-19 will also be allowed to hold mass Idul Fitri prayers in mosques β€” but with strict health protocols.

The mayor of Bekasi city, Rahmat Effendi, said that the number of new COVID-19 cases in the city have declined during the third phase of the PSBB, which started on May 13. The decrease is in line with the increase of green-zone areas from eight to 30 subdistricts.
