Police officers collect debris from the ill-fated plane floating off Karawang Beach, Karawang regency in West Java on Monday (29/10/2018).

Monday (29/10/2018) morning was filled with sorrow as Lion Air flight JT-610 crashed just minutes after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta.

At noon, official reports said the aircraft, which had 189 passengers and crew members on board, had crashed off the coast of Tanjung Karawang in West Java. A joint team of National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Navy and National Police personnel recovered passengers’ bodies and debris from the aircraft.
