A real-time map that illustrates the cyber attack that is occurring in a number of countries is displayed on a screen during the opening of the Cybersecurity National Symposium at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/6). The symposium talked about building a comprehensive cybersecurity to ensure national economic growth. Attending the event were Coordinating Politics, Law and Security Minister Wiranto, Tedjo Edhy Purdijanto, Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, National Intelligence Agency chief Budi Gunawan, Maritime Security Board member Arie Soedewo, DA Mamahit and Lemhannas Governor Agus Widjojo, as well as Budi Soepandji, Hendropriyono and Marciano Norman.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS – Cyber attacks have become more rampant of late. Data from a number of institutions show an increase in cyber attacks and related activities. Some have pointed out that the attacks have also moved from financial gains to political interests. Thus, securing access and data must be heightened.

Data from a number of institutions collected from a few weeks ago until Sunday (4/6) have shown an increase in the number of attacks.
