The Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry is considering the possibility of extending the time for proposing teacher formations through the path of the government employees with work agreements (PPPK).

During the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Indonesian Teachers Association on 28 November 2020, President Jokowi stated that the government plans to recruit more state-employed teachers using contracts.

The government announced on Tuesday (17/11/2020) that contract teachers would be given the opportunity to take online tests in 2021 in hopes of gaining civil servant status.
