People of different faiths chat at the Garuda Pancasila statue at the Jakarta Cathedral, where they are gathered for a breaking-of-the-fast event under the theme “Strengthening Tolerance, Brotherhood and Solidarity of Humanity” on Friday (1/6/2018). The gathering on Pancasila Day reflects the strength of interfaith harmony in Indonesia, which is important to strengthen the unity and cohesion of the nation.

The plan to release Abu Bakar Ba\'asyir -- although this seems to have been canceled because Ba\'asyir refuses to sign a loyalty to Pancasila -- has led to a debate about the pros and cons, both in the real world and in cyberspace.

One of the debate topics deals with the relation between Islam and Pancasila, and on into the issue of khilafah (Islamic state).
