Maintaining Commitment for Peaceful Elections

A number of people give support to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) following the leaving of a dud bomb at the residence of KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo and the Molotov cocktail attack at the home of KPK deputy chairman Laode M. Syarief. After meeting with the KPK leaders, the people held a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (10/01/2018). At the press conference were (left to right) executive director of the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship Vita Diani, HS Dillon, former KPK commissioner Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas, professor of the University of Indonesia (UI) Mayling Oey and former KPK advisor Zainal Abidin.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — A number of things have the potential to disrupt the 2019 general election. The commitment of all parties to maintain peace during the 2019 general election is highly expected.

Not even two weeks into the new year and a number of events which, if not immediately resolved properly, could be used by certain parties to disrupt the 2019 general election. Related to this, commitment to maintain and realize the peaceful election is needed.
