Muhammad Aliansyah, The Supremacy of a Wrestler’s Descendant

Aliansyah won another gold medal at SEA Games after 12 years’ wait and struggle. He is succeeding the “Syah” family that has for generations contributed triumphs to Indonesia.

Nobody expected that national wrestler Muhammad Aliansyah would be victorious at SEA Games Cambodia 2023. In his 67-kilogram Greco-Roman class, there was also Vietnamese wrestler Bui Manh Hung, who had defeated him at the previous SEA Games last year.

Moreover, 12 years had elapsed since he seized gold at this Southeast Asian sports event. The athlete from East Kalimantan is no longer young enough by the standard of wrestlers either. He will be 32 years old on next 26 September.
