Ahmad Sofian (44) is a friend to walk the "silent path" of literacy in West Kalimantan. He also introduces history and interprets public space in a constructive way.

A banner reading “Oesaha Bersama Reading Group” is displayed on a wall of a coffee shop in Pontianak City, West Kalimantan. This is where Sofian's reading group usually holds its activities. The reading group has been around for the last three to four years. However, in practice, the activity of reading and discussing books was carried out by Sofian and his friends long before.

Oesaha Bersama Reading Group is not the first community Sofian has founded. Previously, he had founded the Pontianak Book Community and Equator Literary. The concept is to take turns reading books together each meeting.
