The number of Idul Fitri travelers in 2023 is extraordinary. In 2022, the number reached 85.5 million people. The Transportation Ministry estimates that this year there will be 123.8 million travelers moving from one place to another. In anticipation, the government has extended the holiday period to prevent travelers from moving at the same time.

This is the largest movement of Idul Fitri travelers after the lifting of social restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The majority of travelers use private cars (27.32 million), motorcycles (25.31 million) and buses (22.77 million).
