Railway Projects Audited for Safety and Quality

The KPK exposed the suspects and evidence in the bribery case for the construction and maintenance of railroad lines at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Office, Jakarta, Thursday (13/4/2023).
JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has discovered alleged bribery in railway construction and maintenance projects in Central Java, South Sulawesi, West Java and Java-Sumatra during the 2018-2022 fiscal year. To anticipate the impact of the bribery case on the quality of railway lines, the Transportation Ministry will audit the feasibility and safety of projects with indications of corruption.
The corruption case concerning railway projects was uncovered following a series of arrests in a number of locations on Tuesday (11/4/2023). Early in the morning on Thursday (13/4/2023), the KPK named 10 suspects in the corruption case.
