The world is getting more connected. The distance between the city of Wuhan and the city of Jayapura is more than 10,000 kilometers. However, what happened in the capital city of Hubei Province, China, can affect Papua, Indonesia's farthest province. The first case of Covid-19 in Wuhan did not only spread to Jayapura, but to many cities and countries. One case grew to 680 million cases and spread across 231 countries and regions. Three years have passed and it is not over yet.

The Russian-Ukrainian War is another example. The distance from Jakarta to Kyiv is more than 12,000km. However, when the Ukrainian capital was invaded by Russia on 24 February 2022, the impact reached Jakarta, the capital of the Republic of Indonesia, and many other countries. Supply chains were disrupted, causing an energy and food crisis, and high inflation that caused countries to raise interest rates. State leaders and even sellers of fried foods at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, who did not know the location of Ukraine, could not avoid it.
