JAKARTA, KOMPAS β€” Running a media business with a paid subscription system is not easy in the midst of the rapid flow of information. However, this step must be taken to present enlightening journalism with quality content, which not only presents information, but also educates the public.

Education, Culture, Research and Technology Minister Nadiem Anwar Makarim said building public awareness to pay for access to news content is quite difficult. However, without implementing a paid premium subscription system, the future of quality journalism in Indonesia is threatened.
