JAKARTA, KOMPAS – State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir was voted chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) for the 2023-2027 period, answering the public’s calls for the improvement of national soccer. He is deemed to have the capacity and means to make reforms within the PSSI body.
The former president of the Italian football club Inter Milan surpassed his competitors at the PSSI extraordinary congress (KLB) on Thursday (16/2/2023), namely La Nyalla Mattalitti, Doni Setiabudi and Arif Putra Wicaksono. Erick won the majority with 64 votes, La Nyalla received 22 votes, while Doni and Arif did not get any support from the 86 voters.
