The President said that the mainstream media is urgently needed to clarify information in the current era of information overload.

DELI SERDANG, KOMPAS – The era of information overload has seen the massive spread of fake news. Through verified journalistic works, mainstream media is expected to function as an information filter and be the people’s first port of call for news.

During the commemoration of National Press Day at the multipurpose hall of the North Sumatra administration building in Deli Serdang on Thursday (9/2/2023), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that the main issue of today’s press is responsible reporting. This is because people are being flooded with news, whether from social media, online media or other digital platforms.
