Protection for teachers in the form of the right to immunity is important, urgent and has to be realized. Immunity should be guaranteed.

Various cases of defamation, persecution, violence, intimidation and harassment affecting teachers are seen today. Such cases have frequently taken teachers to court.

Ironically, of the different cases, most involve teachers performing their professional tasks in school.
