RK Maladi, 45, knows very well that the local forest is not in good condition. He tries to note all the troubles endured by the trees, rivers, soil or nature around the place where he lives in Lamandau regency, Central Kalimantan, and to become their mouthpiece.

Maladi, more frequently called Bapak Agung, is never bored with his village life. He goes out of his house to get a large rattan basket. The basket is carried on his back like a school bag. On that Saturday noon (10/12-2022), the sun was blazing as Maladi left for the forest behind his house.
