The provinces of South Papua, Papua Pegunungan (Mountains) and Central Papua have officially been formed. Now, it is time to work on realizing the expectations of the formation of the three provinces.

The process of forming the three new provinces resulting from the division of Papua Province was initiated by the decision of the House of Representatives (DPR) on 30 June, which approved three bills for the formation of three new provinces in Papua to be passed into law. On 25 July 2022, President Joko β€œJokowi” Widodo passed three laws establishing the three provinces.
