Julianto Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison

The Malang District Court has found educator Julianto Eka Putra guilty of sexual violence.

The trial for the decision on the sexual harassment case at the SPI school in Batu City was held on Wednesday (07/09/2022) at the Malang District Court.

MALANG, KOMPAS — Julianto Eka Putra (50), the founder of Selamat Pagi Indonesia school in Batu, East Java, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison, fined Rp 300 million and ordered to pay Rp 44.7 million in restitution to his victim. He was found guilty of seducing one of his students into a sexual relationship. He plans to appeal against the sentence.

The trial of the sexual violence case that occurred at a free school for the poor was held on Wednesday (7/9/2022) from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The trial proceedings at the Malang District Court were presided over by a panel of three judges chaired by Herlina Reyes that consisted of Guntur Kurniawan and Syafrudin.
