Efforts to Awaken the Southern Part of Java
The development of the southern region of Java has not been integrated. Equal distribution of the quality of tourist destination facilities between regions is a necessity.
The commerce of the past, as manifested in its remnants, was mostly concentrated in the northern part of Java. Along with these busy activities for centuries, ports such as Tanjung Priok in Jakarta, Tanjung Emas in Semarang and Tanjung Perak in Surabaya were born. Not to forget, the airports in these cities.
The development of economic activities in the northern part of Java cannot be separated from the strategic position of the cities which are more connected to other regions, such as the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Meanwhile, the cities on the south part are located quite far away so that they must be accessed by road with a relatively long travel time.
