Buying and selling activities at Petisah Market, Medan, North Sumatra, Wednesday (24/8/2022). Prices of basic commodities such as red chili, broiler meat, and broiler eggs have increased quite high.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS β€” The average price of broiler eggs has surged to Rp 31,000 (US$2.10) per kilogram in most parts of the country, partly due to an increase in feed prices and market demand, which has exceeded production. The government is trying to reduce the price of eggs via feed assistance.

At the Kliwon market in Purwokerto, Central Java, the price of eggs in the past week increased from Rp 25,000 to Rp 31,000 per kg. The same price level was observed in Semarang, Central Java, on Wednesday (24/8/2022). Previously, on Monday (22/8), the price of chicken eggs amounted to Rp 32,000 per kg.
