KUALA LUMPUR, MINGGU β€” After long being a reserve player at the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) national training camp, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo has shown that he was ready to make achievements on the Indonesian men's singles badminton team. The player, who was born on June 15, 1998 in Jayapura, Papua, proved this by winning the Malaysia Masters championship on Sunday (10/7/2022) at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In the final match of the BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament series, Chico beat eighth seed shuttler Angus Ng Ka Long from Hong Kong 22-20, 21-15. Chico reached the highest podium, even though he appeared in the main tournament after he was promoted from the qualifying round to replace third seed Anders Antonsen from Denmark, who withdrew due to injury.
