That the number of elderly people in Indonesia will continue to grow seems unavoidable.

Until 2021, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded that Indonesia had 29.3 million elderly people (10.82 percent of the population). The three provinces in the country with the largest elderly population in 2021 were Yogyakarta (15.52 percent), East Java (14.53 percent), and Central Java (14.17 percent).
