JAKARTA, KOMPAS - The politicization of identity often used by political elites to gain public votes has resulted in an endless spiral of violence as illustrated in the violent incident experienced by a lecturer at the University of Indonesia (UI), Ade Armando. The social impact of identity politicization will take time to disappear even after the election is over. Therefore, a change in the behavior of the political elites is very important. Don't use identity politics anymore.

During its investigation against the perpetrators of an assault on Ade Armando, the Jakarta Police arrested two of the six suspects on Tuesday (12/4/2022), while four others are still at large.
