JAKARTA, KOMPAS — Economic pressures have forced children to drop out of school and work in the informal sector or take to the streets to earn meager amounts of money. During the Covid-19 pandemic, dropping out of school has become an increasingly common phenomenon, partly due to the ineffectiveness of the administered distance learning.

Based on observations compiled by Kompas on Tuesday (1/3/2022), the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has hit the household economy hard, with cases of child marriage increasing.
