A Poor Example
Indonesia appears to be facing a crisis, in that its political elite and people’s representatives are setting bad examples. The public knows this. Their actions usually do not follow what they say.
President Joko Widodo reviewed the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years which was held at the Cideng Elementary School (SDN) Complex, Gambir, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/12/2021).
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has asked all citizens and government officials not to travel abroad, including members of the House of Representatives Steering Committee (Bamus DPR).
The President gave the order to state officials on 16 Dec. 2021. The Bamus DPR, however, had already postponed all scheduled overseas trips for lawmakers as of 6 Dec. The President’s order and the Bamus DPR’s decision were both efforts to guard against the Covid-19 Omicron variant that has entered the country.
