JAKARTA, KOMPAS β€” Learning from previous surges in COVID-19 cases following long holidays, the potential of a third wave of infections must be anticipated. Each regional head is expected to suppress the mobility of the people and monitor compliance with health protocols.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said monitoring the trend of COVID-19 cases could help prevent a third wave of infections from occurring. β€œWe identified 155 regencies and cities reporting an increasing number [of cases]. Even though it is still within a safe limit, we must keep it under control, especially for the two cities that have been reporting an increasing number of cases for three weeks in a row, namely East Jakarta and Kendari,” he said at a working meeting and hearing with the House of Representatives Commission IX in Jakarta on Monday (8/11/2021).
