Posts of leaders are traded and the embezzlement of public funds is no longer a shameful act. Social aid, which was initially allocated for the poor, was embezzled. Officials now pocket extra money to issue decrees.

Musi Banyuasin Regent Dodi Reza Alex Nurdin (white shirt) gives a statement regarding the results of a discussion on illegal oil mining in South Sumatra at the Musi Banyuasin Regent's Office, Wednesday (13/10/2021). On Friday (15/10/2021) Dodi was arrested by the KPK on corruption charges.

Embezzlement of public funds continues to happen in this country. Most recently, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Musi Banyuasin regent Dodi Reza Alex Nurdin.

Alex Nurdin was named a suspect by the Attorney Generalโ€™s Office in mid-September 2021. He is a former governor of South Sumatra and also the father of Dodi Reza. Alex was arrested and detained on charges of corruption in the purchase of natural gas by the South Sumatra Regional Mining and Energy Company for the 2010-2019 period, costing the state a total loss of Rp 433 billion.
