State-owned port operators PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) I, II, III and IV will be merged into a single company on 1 Oct. 2021.

The State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry‘s announcement of the merger plan cast my mind back to J. Campo\'s paper which, along with mine, was presented at the seminar "The Late Colonial State" at Leiden University in 1989. Through the editing of historian Robert Cribb a book titled The Late Colonial State: Political and Economic Foundations of the Netherlands Indies 1880-1942 (1994), Compo\'s paper, along with others, could be preserved.
