Police Arrest Thieves of Peduli Lindungi Data

Health Minister Budi deplored the fraud in the use of the Peduli Lindungi app, which, among other things, is useful for checking vaccination status or COVID-19 test results.

The police have arrested two people for illegally accessing the government-made Peduli Lindungi app to produce fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates and sell them. Two other people were arrested for buying the fake vaccination certificates.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The Jakarta Police arrested HH, 30, a staff member of Kapuk Muara subdistrict office, North Jakarta, for illegally accessing the Peduli Lindungi app to produce fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates. HH, who has access to this population data, cooperated with FH, 23, to sell the fake vaccination certificates to the public.
