Ni Nengah Widiasih.

Indonesian women’s weight lifter, Ni Nengah Widiasih, has raised her achievement at the Paralympic Games from a bronze medal for 41-kilogram powerlifting in Rio de Janeiro 2016 to a silver medal for the same event in Tokyo 2020. The Balinese athlete hopes her accomplishment will pave the way for many more medals from her compatriots in the other events.

“Hopefully this medal serves to motivate my other peers so that as many Red and White flags as possible can be flown in Tokyo,” said the athlete, commonly called Widia following a competition at the Tokyo International Forum, Japan, on Thursday (26/8/2021).
