A number of ambulances were parked in a row in the Pogung Lor area, Sinduadi, Mlati, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, Thursday (17/6/2021).

The surge in Covid-19 cases has overwhelmed health facilities in Yogyakarta. Residents are having difficulty obtaining health services because hospitals can no longer accept new patients. Hoping for a miracle, they are queuing for hours for a hospital bed.

Husband and wife Prayitno, 62, and Amiyati, 62, experienced this on Thursday (1/7/2021), when the couple got an antigen test at a hospital in Yogyakarta. "I’m not feeling well. I also have a cough and a cold," Prayitno said when contacted on Friday (2/7).
