Achmad Berkati

Achmad Berkati is no longer young. He will be 64 this year. However, as a volunteer firefighter, he knows no retirement age. His inner call to help fellow humans has never waned.

Three quarters of Achmad Berkatiโ€™s life has been dedicated to his work as a volunteer firefighter. When he was only 16, he joined the Indigenous Private Fire Brigade (BPK SP/) in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. Set up in 1973, BPK SP later led to the emergence of other BPKs in Banjarmasin.
