Harboring Bits of Hope for the KPK

KPK leaders need to focus more attention and efforts on consolidating the commission to salvage the cause for the bits of hope pinned on the KPK to eradicate corruption in the country.

Is there any public hope left for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)? This question could also be phrased as: Is it still necessary to pin bits of hope on version five of the KPK, chaired by Firli Bahuri?

Such a question and many others have been circulating in the public, especially since mid-April 2021. This was when the KPK threw itself in the epicenter of a commotion that had initially been an internal affair before creeping out and getting the attention of anticorruption activists, institutions, professors and President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
