JAKARTA, KOMPAS -- Child marriage threatens the growth of children, especially the reproductive health and lives of girls. Pregnancy poses a risk not only to the girls but also to their offspring.

In the long term, the high incidence of child marriage threatens the quality of human resources. The reason is that the number of infants born to young mothers is closely related to the high rate of tengkes (stunting) in Indonesia.
