The KRI Teuku Umar and KRI Tjiptadi warships are prepared for deployment in the TNI (Indonesian Military) Sea Combat Alert operation, which is to be reinforced by air power. A military briefing was held and led by the chief of the Joint Defense Territory Command (Kogabwilhan), Vice Adm. Yudo Margono in Natuna on Friday (3/1/2020).

JAKARTA, KOMPAS β€” Efforts to strengthen the Indonesian Military (TNI) will experience a slowdown due to the reallocation of budget funds to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. To handle this successfully, the TNI is trying to map out its priorities and find new ways for maintenance and procurement of equipment.

According to data from the Defense Ministry, Rp 9.97 trillion were reallocated in the defense budget to mitigate Covid-19. In an official statement from the Defense Ministry, the reallocation is said to have an impact on the TNI\'s procurement of primary weaponry systems (alutsista), with some plans canceled.
