Giring Ganesha (center) submits his documents to PSI Chairperson Grace Natalie (second left) to register his candidacy to represent the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) in the 2018 legislative elections, on 6 Sept. 2017 at the PSI Central Leadership Council in Jakarta.

Giring Ganesha has confirmed his bid to run for the Indonesian presidency in the 2024 General Election. The public needs to understand this as a strategy of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) to test the geopolitical climate in Jakarta.

Rumors about Giring Ganesha\'s nomination as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election surfaced with the appearance of large billboards in Jakarta and Pekanbaru, Riau. Initially, neither the PSI nor Giring commented on the presence of the billboards, images of which were later circulated on social media. The only official statement from the PSI was to announce the appointment of Giring as its acting chairman.
