Andani Eka Putra, Devotion to Nation amid Pandemic

When the Covid-19 pandemic began, Andani promptly submitted a proposal to the campus to assist in Covid-19 sample examination.

Setting up a diagnostic laboratory for Covid-19 sample examination in West Sumatra has been a great source of pride for Andani Eka Putra, as he believes a researcher takes the greatest pride when their achievements benefit the nation.

Andani was handling one phone call after another on Tuesday morning (7/7/2020). From 7 a.m., Andani in his neat shirt was ready in his office at the Infectious Disease Integrated Diagnostic and Research Laboratory, School of Medicine, Andalas University (FK Unand). He answered patiently the calls from heads of city health offices in West Sumatra one by one. He not only conveyed the latest figures of confirmed Covid-19 cases but also explained the importance of Covid-19 case surveillance and tracing to them to mitigate the pandemic.
