Central Java Adds COVID-19 Testing Laboratory

The laboratory at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Hospital in Surakarta will be able to perform swab tests for COVID-19. Some hospital were also being prepared to administer the test.

SEMARANG, KOMPAS -- To improve and speed up the testing of COVID-19 samples, Central Java is increasing the number of laboratories that have capacity to do swab testing. After the Salatiga-based Center for Disease Reserve and Vector Research, swab testing can also be done at Sebelas Maret University Hospital in Surakarta.

"The laboratory is capable of performing 40 tests per day," said the head of the Central Java Health Agency, Yulianto Prabowo, during a video conference on Wednesday (15/4/2020).
