An aerial view on Sunday (12/4/2020) shows an empty Jl. Ahmad Yani in the city of Bekasi, West Java. Following Jakarta, five regions in West Java province – the municipalities of Bekasi, Bogor, and Depok, as well as the regencies of Bekasi and Bogor – will also impose large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) upon the approval of the Health Minister. Each region is now drafting a mayoral or regental regulation on implementing the PSBB.

Government officials have worked from home for almost a month now as part of the government’s social restriction to halt the spread of COVID-19. Public services have been affected. Work culture needs to be changed so that good services can be maintained.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS— The policy to allow government officials to work from home in a bid to further prevent the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 has begun to disrupt public services. Creativity and changes in work culture among civil servants are needed when they work from home so that public services remain optimal. The reason is that public services are urgently needed by the people.
