US President Donald Trump (right) and North Korea\'s leader Kim Jong Un (left) reach out to shake hands at the start of their historic US-North Korea summit, at the Capella Hotel on Sentosa island in Singapore on June 12, 2018. Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un have become on June 12 the first sitting US and North Korean leaders to meet, shake hands and negotiate to end a decades-old nuclear stand-off.

North Korea’s commitment to world peace continues to be seriously discussed. What is that country’s contribution to the efforts to create order and stability in Asian and global security? The questions over the issue are even louder, especially after news broke out in mid-November about North Korea’s testing of modern tactical weapons. Last year, the world was shocked by the country’s ballistic missile tests.

Various groups were stunned because the test of North Korean modern tactical weapons early last month could potentially destroy hopes for a denuclearization initiative on the Korean Peninsula that was being pioneered.
