Health is every human’s basic need. However, it is often hard for those living on remote islands to have proper access to health care, and their illnesses are often left untreated. This has driven physician Agus Harianto to initiate the RST Ksatria Airlangga floating hospital.

The RST Ksatria Airlangga is a ship that was transformed into a floating hospital under an initiative by the alumni of Airlangga University in Surabaya, East Java. RST Ksatria Airlangga made its maiden voyage on Oct. 27, 2017 from Bawean Island. The RST Ksatria Airlangga continued its journey to the archipelagic islands of eastern Indonesia, which are difficult to reach and lack healthcare facilities.
