Loans Agreed, Phase II to be Put on Auction

The Governments of Japan and Indonesia have agreed on loans for the construction of the second phase of the Jakarta MRT system. Construction auctions for a number of phase II contract packages can begin in 2019.

Workers put the finishing touch on the construction of the Dukuh Atas MRT Station on Jl. Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (24/10/2018). The governments of Indonesia and Japan have agreed on a loan note worth around Rp 10 trillion for the construction of the second phase of the MRT line, linking the HI Traffic Circle and Kampung Bandan.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS β€” The Governments of Japan and Indonesia have agreed on loans for the construction of the second phase of the Jakarta MRT system. Construction auctions for a number of phase II contract packages can begin in 2019.

PT MRT Jakarta finance and administration director Tuhiyat explained at the Jakarta Legislative Council on Wednesday (24/10/2018) that the first phase of the MRT infrastructure project currently under construction covering  the 16-kilometer north-south corridor of Lebak Bulus to the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle was scheduled to be operational in March 2019.
