After the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) issued a notification letter to launch an investigation into him, Social Affairs Minister Idrus Marham decided to step down from his ministerial position.
Idrus conveyed his wish to resign in his meeting with President Joko โJokowiโ Widodo on Friday (24/8/2018). Idrus served as the social affairs minister for 220 days. He was sworn in on Jan. 18, 2018. Besides resigning from his ministerial position, Idrus, who was also a former Secretary-General of Golkar Party, resigned from the party\'s management. President Jokowi immediately appointed Golkar Party politician Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita as the new social affairs minister.
