JAKARTA, KOMPAS – Education can be an effective soft power weapon against radicalism. It can improve students’ resistance in being exposed to the dangers of radicalism and narcotics. The spread of radicalism and narcotics, which has reached elementary students in recent years, is a huge threat to the future sustainability of Indonesia.

Prevention efforts through schools and family education must be fostered to reduce and even end the penetration of radical ideas and narcotics among school-aged children. Therefore, it is critical to establish synergy between the Education and Culture Ministry, the Religious Affairs Ministry, the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).
