Had Komari, 53, a farmer from Tanggamus regency, Lampung, decided to not take care of his coffee plantation, there would be no Komari clone of Robusta coffee in Lampung. Thousands of people now rely on the coffee, which is one of many clones of Robusta coffee in Lampung.

He was amazed to see that one particular coffee tree continued to produce an abundance of berries after many other trees suffered from a pest attack. It had many leaves and fruits. Yet, he did not know the clone type of the tree.
